President and Cofounder
Michael has over 30 years of experience in business management, technology development and commercialization.
Since graduating from Colorado State University in 1974 with a MS in Mechanical Engineering, Michael has been
involved in numerous technology development and engineering design programs for all levels of government as well
as commercial businesses. These programs included designing state-of-the-art products, product manufacturing,
data processing, systems integration, and analysis and development of advanced instrumentation and control systems.
At the corporate level, he has led strategic planning, marketing and business development, large organization
operations and administration, acquisitions, financing, and contract execution. Mike was named Engineer of the Year
for the state of New Mexico in 1989.

His experience includes serving as CEO and Chairman of Electrosource, Inc. (a technology start-up),
Corporate Vice President of BDM International (a large R&D firm), President of BDM CSI (a commercial
subsidiary of BDM), and President and Founder of The Semmens Group, LLC, and Austin Growth Management
and Investments.
Michael currently serves as Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Technology Alliance (RMTA), a regional
development organization operating from the campus of University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS).
Since its inception in 2004, the RMTA has combined the efforts of industry, government and educational
institutions in the Rocky Mountain Corridor, a region stretching from the northern border of Colorado to
the southern border of New Mexico, for the purpose of developing, applying and commercializing technology.
